Baby Names - How do you Spell that?

People with strange names and surnames. Ever wonder why they did it, or what the

meaning of it is. Let's have a look at it and explore the world of weird to unique Names and Surnames.

Celebrity Naming Choices

The world of the rich and famous is peppered with couples who bestow outlandish monikers on their offspring.

First up we’ve got celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and his wife Jools. The most recent addition to their brood is River Rocket Blue Dallas. He joins Poppy Honey, Daisy Boo Pamela, Petal Blossom Rainbow, and Buddy Bear. Ms. Oliver is quoted as saying “I hate people’s opinions on names. Whatever you call your baby is your decision.”

Elon Musk of Tesla fame and his wife Grimes (aka Claire Elise Boucher) undoubtedly agreed, calling their baby X A-12 (perhaps pronounced Bob).

That turned out to be a miscalculation. Given names in California, where the lad was born, are limited to the 26 letters of the alphabet. The Musks, ever the innovators, gave the little rascal the moniker X A-Xii (still pronounced Bob?).

"Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden called their daughter girl Raddix," Virginia Van Zanten of Vogue tells us. Then there's musician Frank Zappa's (appropriately) odd offspring: Moon Unit, Dweezil, and Diva Thin Muffin. Cardi B recently gave her baby child the name Kulture."

Surnames with Multiple Barrels.

The British aristocracy has a propensity of combining their surnames. It is "the manner that top families advertised their rich heritage and titles," according to the BBC.

Consider the clerk entrusted with filling in the blanks on the document to register Leone Sextus Denys Oswolf Fraudatifilius Tollemache-Tollemache de Orellana Plantagenet Tollemache-birth. Tollemache's

In England, a village clergyman and his wife, both of noble descent, gave birth to this venerable gentleman with the outrageously long name in 1884. As if there were any other kinds of English country vicar, the priest was considered to be odd.

Mabel Helmingham Ethel Huntingtower Beatrice Blazonberrie Evangeline Vise de Lou de Orellana Plantagenet Toedmag Saxon was Leone Sextus Blah Blah Blah's sister.

Leone enlisted in the army and died in the Gallipoli catastrophe from illness. Captain Leone Sextus Tollemache was buried at the Dernancourt Communal Cemetery in France, and the stone cutter who carved his marker saved hours of labor by shortening his name.

People who are concerned about such things point out that Leone, for example, only had a double-barrelled name, with all forenames but the last Tollemache-Tollemache.

Admiral Sir Reginald Aylmer Ranfurley Plunkett-Ernle-Erle-Drax was a true four-barrelled name holder. He was dispatched to Moscow in 1939 to encourage Communist dictator Joseph Stalin to join Britain in an anti-Hitler alliance. That didn't work out either.

Perhaps they should have sent Richard Plantagenet Campbell Temple-Nugent-Brydges-Chandos-Grenville, 3rd Duke of Buckingham and Chandos, the quintuple-barrelled Richard Plantagenet Campbell Temple-Nugent-Brydges-Chandos-Grenville, 3rd Duke of Buckingham and Chandos, the quintuple-barrelled Richard Plantagenet Campbell Temple-Nugent- (below). Of course, that was impossible because Richard Plantagenet died in 1880.

In 2016, a mother in Wales attempted to register her twins as Preacher and Cyanide, respectively. As if the legal system didn't have anything better to do, the issue was taken to court, where the names were rejected.

Another country that frowns on baby names that authorities believe is harmful to the child's development is France. Prince William, Babar, Nutella, and the Mini Cooper are just a few of the recent rejects.

The state of Sonora in Mexico has released a list of 61 names that are "derogatory, offensive, discriminating, or meaningless." So no more Burger King, Circumcision, Rambo, or Sponsorship registrations. (There's no word yet on whether Trump will be added to the list.)

"Children have been given names such as Number 16 Bus Shelter, Violence, and Benson and Hedges," writes The New Zealand Herald (twins). However, registration officials have blocked names like Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Stallion, Twisty Poi, Keenan Got Lucy and Sex Fruit."

Unfortunately, many children are left vulnerable to parents who think names like Evian, Halo, and Rhythm are creative.

Rachel Harr and Daniel Hardy married in the state of Maryland in 2008. The Harder Harr wedding was well-attended by friends and family. Other prominent unions were Oregon's John Looney and Shelby Warde, Kentucky's William Best, and Jennifer Lay.
